Osborne featured in two Washington Post Magazine pieces28 October 2019
On Sunday, November 3, two articles will publish in the print edition of the Washington Post Magazine -- an "issue written, illustrated, and photographed by currently and formerly incarcerated Americans."
The first piece is a photo essay by Joseph Rodriguez that follows Scott Ortiz, one of our Elder Reentry Initiative participants, from the day of his release from Fishkill Correctional Facility through his first weeks of reentry. If you look closely, you'll see our own Thomas Ryer in one of the photos--as he takes Scott Ortiz for his first post-release meal.
The second piece is a deeply personal essay by John J. Lennon, who writes about his work to account for the harm he caused others and his desire to find ways to make amends. That story includes a description of our Coming to Terms "15-week workshop that helps people assess the damage they have done and learn to process it in a healthy way" and discusses New York's apology letter bank.
